Staged car accidents on the rise - March 4, 2011

A recent study made in the UK revealed that there is a rising number of staged car accidents in the country. According to the findings, one in 20 motorists think they have been victimized by a crash for cash scam. The most common method used seem to be rear-ending, where the front vehicle driven by the criminal will brake suddenly so that the vehicle behind him will crash into him.
New research from LV suggests that staged car accidents are taking place in record high numbers. Other methods include signaling another driver that he can merge into traffic but then the criminal will suddenly swerve so that their cars will collide, and sideswiping vehicles.
