4. Report the incident and have the local law enforcement officers to prepare an accident report
5. Notify your insurance company about the accident as soon as possible. The insurance adjuster will review the accident report to determine who is at fault. The repair or replacement of your vehicle will be handled by the insurance company of the guilty party.
6. Do not release insurers at once. The damages must be settled satisfactorily before you relieve your insurance company of its responsibility.
7. Some settlement factors to consider are: bodily injuries; damages – payment of the cost of repairs to your vehicle; and appraisal clause – can be used to settle disputes about physical damage claims between you and your insurance company.
